I love Kimono-Dresses and I fell in love with this dress when I saw the pattern. However, I had a few issues with the pattern. But alltogehter it looks nice and it's wearable.

I had the feeling  a part of the instructions is missing. It is required to cut 2 frontbands, but I only found out after a few times struggeling how to sew it to the dress. And I think the interfacing on both sides of the front band is unnecessary (the front band is now really "thick"). I want to make this dress again (as a maxi-dress), but will try it without the interfacing.

I added another band at the hem of the dress, cause I think it looks nice and matches the sleeves.

The pattern requires a lot of handsewing, all contrasting bands are sewed down with slipstitch.  I don't mind that, cause I love handsewing. But you should have that in mind, if you want to make a "quick" dress.

Als Geburtstagsgeschenk für eine meiner liebsten Freundinnen gab es diesen Kimono aus schwarzer Spitze und dunkelrotem Chiffon.
Der Chiffon war etwas knifflig zu verarbeiten und erforderte viele Handnähte, trotzdem hat es viel Spaß gemacht den Kimono zu nähen.

Als Schnitt habe ich Nr. 124 aus der Burda 7/2011 verwendet. 

 Anstelle des kleinen Bindebändches vorne, habe ich einen Gürtel aus dem Chiffonstoff genäht und statt der Seitenkeile habe ich Schlitze gemacht. Die Gürtelschlaufen sind handgeknüpft (mit Knopflochstich).

As a birthday present for one of my best friends I made this kimono from black lace and dark-red chiffon-fabric.
The chiffon was a bit tricky to sew and needed a lot of handsewing, but it was a lot of fun to make the kimono.

I used pattern No. 124 from Burda-Magazin 7/2011.

Instead of the small tape on the front, i made a belt from the chiffon fabric and instead of the small gussets I made slits. The belt-loops are handbound.

Kimono Party Kleid

In Wien gibt es vierteljährlich eine geniale Vintage-Party names Cirque Rouge. Party im Stil der 20er - 50er Jahre, jedes Mal mit einer wundervollen Mitternachtseinlage, mit Burlesque-Shows, Artisten und Gesangseinlagen. Da lassen wir uns natürlich nicht zweimal bitten und sind immer mit dabei :)

Das letzte Mal am 18.04.2015, war  das Motto "Shanghai Serenade". Dafür hab ich mir ein Kleidchen im Kimonostil genäht.

Schwarzer Georgette mti weißen Pünktchen, eingefasst mit rotem Satinschrägband und einem Satinband unter der Brust. Es war wirklich angenehm zu tragen. (Schnitt 139 aus der Burda 5/2010)

Ich werde versuchen in nächster Zeit mal die Fotos der 20er Jahre Outfits nachzureichen, die gehören leider erst Mal fotografiert.

Und jetzt hab ich langsam Stress, weil noch gar nichts fürs WGT fertig ist 0.0 *panic* und meine beste Freundin noch ein Kostüm für den Life Ball bekommt.
